How often you should be watering your plants
-
The amount of water a plant needs is highly variable and there
are many determining factors. The amount of water needed is not
a single quantity
- which hydrates all plants
- but over-watering
is certainly the primary cause of plant mortality.

Signs of distress
Plants will let you know if they are thirsty or drowning.
Withered leaves, yellowed leaves, sour-smelling soil,
soggy soil and standing water around the plant indicate drowning.
A falling plant, a fallen flower or leaf, dry soil which is torn from
the inside of the container are indicators of that the plant
is dying of thirst.

When to water?
Water all plants in the morning. Plants absorb better
water in the cool of the morning than at any other time
of the day.
Water the plants at the roots and not on the leaves
to prevent water loss and plant damage.
